This week Boom Monk Ben takes care of the first hour with more beats, wobbles and basslines from Bassnectar, Toddla T, A LA Fu and Ludacris, plus “Moments in Love” by Art of Noise given a rework by Caspa.

Hour 2 welcomes two DJ's that won a competition for a slot in the Ninja Tune tent at the Secret Garden party. Chocolate Thunder and The Boog-A-Loo Crew both give us a taste of what to expect this weekend with tracks in the pot from Roots Manuva, Diplo & Blaqstarr, Martyn and Floating Points. They will be joined at the festival by more from the Ninja Tune camp including DJ Food & DK, Hexstatic, Speech Debelle, King Cannibal and The Qemists.

Dark Avengers NOT written by Brian Bendis... Matt Fraction tells a part of his Utopia tale in this series... fuck off.


part two of a two part fill-in JSA story by Jerry Ordway. totally forgettable - worthless.


Utopia - another event... this one capitalizing on a Dark Avengers/X-Men team-up. pass.


Batman without Morrison... just more run-of-the-mill, by-the-numbers Batman. yawn.


really hated the Batwoman story - but I'll say JH Williams III art is gorgeous... I mean beautiful stuff... shame that he's not on a more interesting book.


Red Robin was just Robin a couple months ago... now it looks like he's jumped from 17 years old to 30... what?


this book makes no sense... totally skip-able.


I really wanted to like this book. features the "super young team" that Grant Morrison created in the pages of Final Crisis. I mean the superpower of the character "Most Excellent Super-Bat" is that he's so rich, he can do anything... great concepts... it's just falling short for me without Morrison.

Zodiac #1 was just a real joy to read. first off, I'm a huge fan of Nathan Fox's artwork... but the story from Joe Casey was a good one! takes place in today's Marvel Universe but using lesser known/unknown characters... great fun...



and if you dug Nathan Fox's work on Zodiac... go scrounge up a copy of Heavy Metal from Sept. 2008. It's got "Fluorescent Black", a graphic novel from Matt Wilson and Nathan Fox.
