Operation Time Search by Andre Norton.
I usually have pretty good luck picking up old 1960-70's sci-fi paperbacks. I usually enjoy them... but this one was crap. I'm a notoriously slow reader - but I always try to finish what I start... this small paperback took me months to read!
not recommended... ex-military guy get's snatched from the present (1967-ish?) and is taken back thousands of years to the age of Atlantis... where he saves Atlantis from being destroyed and changes history, etc. blah. I just didn't get into it.
