This week guest Kormac takes over the first hour and brings his wealth of experience to the turntables. Having cut his teeth on the radio he know dons the booth of night spots around the UK & Europe bringing beat broadness to the masses. Music on the platters from The Beta Band, Charizma, Pepe Deluxe, Bassnectar and a few hot ones from the Kormac hard drives.
We jump back in time for the second hour with classic Solid Steel from Coldcut. This week's selection is the first hour from a show dated 13/12/90 which was a collection of great K Mixes (these were short mixes made each week for their show on early 'legal" Kiss FM days). We start with K Mix 6 - 'Once Upon A Time', a breakneck blend of old school hip hop and funk in a Lesson stylee and one of Matt Black's personal favourites. Next is K Mix 9 - 'London Bass Jam 1' from 26/10/90 a Public Enemy megamix complete with original JBs samples. K Mix 11 - 'Run DMC mix' from 11/09/90 speaks for itself and dives back and forth throughout their career whilst K Mix 7 'Do Your Own Thing' from mid November 1990 mixes classic hip hop with acid jazz beats.
