Following two highly acclaimed video mixes 'The Reels of Solid Steel' and 'Revenge of The Nerd', DJ Cheeba now returns adding live footage and green screen video shoots into his usual fast paced mix style. Music comes from Dave Clarke, High Rankin and Prince among others while video influences draw on everything from Disney to superheros via Spinal Tap and Bristol's recent 'See No Evil' street art event. The art of the mixtape just took another leap forward and there's no looking back.

In hour 2 it's an EXCLUSIVE mix from A Guy Called Gerald. His music career took off in 1988 (the same year Solid Steel started) with the classic "Voodoo Ray" which became such a pivotal record. A string of releases followed and he is still producing music today and playing clubs regularly. You can catch him doing a live old school set at the WANG 12th Birthday Party at Hidden in London on 12th November alongside Andrew Wetherall, Radioactive Man and Mark Broom. The tracklist in unavailable, but starting with a Trax classic, it's a deep journey through the house and techno end of the musical spectrum.

Mixed with incredible flair and imagination, this is another bench mark in contemporary DJ culture. As Cheeba puts it... We continue our review of 2010 looking back at the most popular mixes by the 'nu skool' Solid Steel resident DJ's, as voted by you the listeners. 'In no particular order', we kick off with Boom Monk Ben and a section from his mix back in September, hitting big dubstep tracks with Benga's remix of Toddla T, Chali 2Na & Rusko, plus ragga flavours from Tanya Stephens and the oh so soulful voice of Erykah Badu given a superb remix by Seiji.

Cheeba's mix from February got your votes, with music from Waxfactor, Memory9, and Santogold alongside music from the Ninja catalogue, where DJ Food and King Cannibal jostle for space with Roots Manuva and Hexstatic.

In Hour 2, Ruckus Roboticus gets the nod for his May mix of contemporary beats, hip-hop, and soul to while away your lazy afternoons. Of course J Dilla is in there, lounging alongside Mos Def, Flying lotus and Jay Electronica.

DJ Moneyshot's 'You Are The Infinity' mix from February hit the right button, with crisp drum kicks of vintage Jungle added to a hypnotic dose of self-help records, Rock breaks, classic Hip-Hop and downtempo beats. Ann Peacock, Photek, Organized Konfusion, Pixies and Daedelus all get some treatment.

Cheeba returns with a mix more typical of his live DJ sets. Setting out on some re-edited trip hop from the likes of Depth Charge and Waxfactor leading through to more upbeat dance floor devastation from Diplo, Afrika Bambaataa and Peter Parker. From the Ninja catalogue, The Slew and Scruff jostle for space with King Cannibal and two edits from DJ Food's recent EPs. Typically layered and cut up this is Cheeba back on a short break from his video adventures.

Ghostbeard kicks off hour 2 with a few old skool jungle ragga tracks and when it's labels like Congo Natty, Ganja, you know what to expect, plus tracks from Bongo Chilli, Marcus Visionary and Busy Signal. DJ Grotesque is back with more of a reggae dancehall feel, with artists Ghetto Priest, Jah Screechy alongside Poirier, Toddla T and Modeselector.

Cheeba makes the most of this technology mixing, scratching and juggling both sounds and pictures with stunning results. Original films, remixes and music videos made by Cheeba and James Reed (Thousand Thousand Points of Light) blend seamlessly with video mashups, animations and a wealth of other wonderful and often bizarre visual sources.

For Hour 2 , sweet daddy luv delivers a chill out mix using rock records from the early 70’s, featuring tracks from The Beach Boys, Black Sabbath, Lou Reed and Brian Eno to ease you into the weekend.
