Solid Steel (28 MAR 2008)

This week we welcome in the guest spot Killer Tomato with a fine selection of broad beats. Music off the shelf from Cymande, DJ Kentaro feat Spank Rock, The Police, High Contrast, Jean Knight and more from across the spectrum. All neatly pick 'n mixed for your listening pleasure.

In hour two we return to the vaults. With the Iraq war reaching it's 5th Anniversary, it seems timely to broadcast Strictly Kev's 'War Is Not The Answer' mix from 2003. With an hour of war-themed tracks for the show, some are commentary on previous wars, some poke fun, some are there purely because they have a war-related title but all stick to the central theme. DJ Shadow, Marvin Gaye, Chris Morris and Public Enemy all make their point. Sad then that 5 years on this senseless waste of life continues.

Check out www.bosbos.net for the second chapter 'War Is Stupid'.

Until next week; Keep It Steel.

A new Royal Groove episode - Easy Does It.

Eighties funk by Prince, city love by DJ Krush, all or nothing from Finland, Italian all star jazz piano sounds by LTC. A project called The Black Feeling by The Bamboos' Lance Ferguson that is all about taking it back to the source. Dimitrov and Adnan feeling me on, Bitman & Roban's answer to the beat, Benedic Lamdin's little steps, I'm wishing Lorez drops by more often, planetary sounds by Funki Porcini and Cibelle's poern.
