Solid Steel in association with Serato (3rd July)
This week Strictly Kev celebrates a rare occurrence - the release of a new DJ Food record! To mark the occasion he's put together a selection of songs that inspired and helped form the EP, together with the tracks themselves to give it a bit of context until the second part drops in the autumn. All the artists who feature on the record are present from The Dragons, Ken Nordine, Dr. Rubberfunk, Natural Self and Bundy K Brown as well a teaser for the next installment - it's a One Man's Weird Is Another Man's World reader if you will.
This is neatly followed in the second hour with a a fantastic mix from The Broken Keys - aka Natural Self and Nostalgia 77 - called ‘Engine Oil and Elbow Grease’, stuffed to the brim with old funk, rock breaks and psyche, with tracks from Vanilla Fudge, Colosseum and Serge Gainsbourg and Rock Workshop.
