the All-Star Superman series that just wrapped up, written by Grant Morrison, art by Frank Quitely... certainly one of my favorite series of all time...
if you haven't read it - go buy it... now! (amazon) (you'll have to wait until Feb 2009) for the second half of the series to be collected).
if you have read it - there's an excellent "why I loved this series so much" article written by Brandon Thomas over at Newsarama. He certainly spells it out better than I ever could.
