Hour 2 delves into the vaults unearths a Solid Steel show from November 1993. Periodically in the early to mid-nineties Coldcut would give up it's traditional format of talk and adverts and morph into a Sphinx for two hours. They were sprawling soundscapes inhabiting similar territory to the Orb and FSOL at the time. Unfortunately we have no track list, but this show takes in Jazz from Ricardo Marrero, Latino Hip Hop from Kid Frost, thunderstorms, Steve Reich, storytelling, The Irresistible Force, cicadas and the Orb on one of their remix excursions.
As always more vintage Solid Steel at bosbos.net and not forgetting the podcasts of course!?
