This week on Solid Steel, we welcome DJ Craze, the turntablist champion with a mix promoting his recent Fabric mix CD. Tracks from Swizz Beats, Gaz, Blaqstarr and Freez showcase his skills to perfection. Joining him him in the first hour are Caspa & Rusko with a taste of their Fabric mix with tunes from Wonder, Benga & Coki and the men themselves.Hour 2 delves into the vaults unearths a Solid Steel show from November 1993. Periodically in the early to mid-nineties Coldcut would give up it's traditional format of talk and adverts and morph into a Sphinx for two hours. They were sprawling soundscapes inhabiting similar territory to the Orb and FSOL at the time. Unfortunately we have no track list, but this show takes in Jazz from Ricardo Marrero, Latino Hip Hop from Kid Frost, thunderstorms, Steve Reich, storytelling, The Irresistible Force, cicadas and the Orb on one of their remix excursions.
