"Quick Thursday recap before we head out the door....

So I don't have many pix to truly show what 125,000 geeks & nerds look like but that's what we're up against here.

While wandering the toy aisles I was snapping some pix of Matt's beloved Lucha Libre figures and looked over my shoulder and saw a familiar logo. Yup, there's now a Jukebot. And the boxes were all signed - we had missed DJ Shadow by minutes.

We caught the TV Funhouse panel in the evening that featured a live visit from Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. Prime targets for him to poop on in that audience! As we were leaving the room there was a MOB heading towards us. For a MOB to stand out at Comicon takes some effort but Paris Hilton seems to have the knack for drawing all the attention. Why's she here? To promote a movie she's in with Ogre from Skinny Puppy, of course.

After that it was off to the Munky King party at Basic Bar for amazing pizza and amazing-er live art. Trying to cram as much into one night as possible we jumped up-town to the StrangeCo party but it was infiltrated by the locals by the time we got there and we bolted back to Basic to see how the art turned out. Heading back to the hotel and all the fat paparazzi are running the streets - Paris must be loose on the town.

Strictly Kev and I have dispatched Agent PDM (or as I call him, Paul) to the San Diego Comic Con in efforts to secure some exclusive Ashley Wood gear and a couple of signatures -- well he's there in the middle of the chaos.

I've asked him to send us some pics -- here's what's going on:

paul says: "We're getting settled in San Diego, spent some time at the con but didn't come across the IDW booth yet. The place was absolutely rammed until you got to the actual comics related aisles and then it was nice and empty.

I did see 3 different variations of the Bertie fig - it's pretty amazing! Attached pic said it's not coming out until the fall but at $299 I'm just gonna admire it from behind the glass."

This week DJ Moneyshot is ready to bang in your face baby!! Music on the platters from The Aston Shuffle, Sam Moultrie, Crookers, Black Grass and more gems to get the weekend well and truly up and running!

Revival time! PC from DJ Food with another vintage slice of Solid Steel from 1997. The sets incorporate his trademark Boss delay pedal, spoken word, Jazz, Music Concréte, Drum n Bass and heavy beats, all sewn together so seamlessly that it's impossible to spot the joins. His mastery of the art of DJing never ceases to amaze, as his style is extremely musical but instinctive too, always riding the rhythm and aware of the space around or within a track. Tracks from Charles Earland, Squarepusher and Alvin Lucier to name but a few. Pure Class!

The short version - the solid steel guys asked if I could do a "best of Megatrip" mix... taking my six previous solid steel mixes - boiling them down to the best bits. here's the result - one hour of jazz pop, hip hop, funk, soul, reggae covers, 70s pop and a touch of drum and bass in the middle somewhere. Uptempo stuff for the most part -- I Insist You Eat Steel!
