As I've posted here on this blog before. One of my favorite series coming from Image Comics right now is Lucha Libre! Just came across an old interview from Sept. 2007 with a couple of the creators. Check it out here.
Hey check it out - my boy TMOE comes correct with another of his One Take Tapes podcasts. This one featuring a bunch of rare tracks that runs from Folk to Funk and Big Band to Psychedelic Rock.
Here's a mix I blindly stumbled across last week. I really liked what I saw on the tracklisting - so y'all know how easy it is to right click save as -- but I actually listened to it too! A fantastic 42 minutes of music here. Don't sleep. Head on over to the "all up in your earhole" site to download this mix!
I love the design... but green? I'll have to pass. If it's ever reprinted on another color, I'll be a proud owner. If you're a fan of green, you can find it at conkershop.com.
To say that the Megatrip Empire is in serious financial hardship right now would be a gross understatement... Ebay to the rescue?
I'm going to start listing TONS of stuff up on ebay I guess. Comics, records, cd's, books, t-shirts, artwork and anything else I can think of. Want to help me out? Bookmark my Ebay store... the King Megatrip Junkyard!
So far, there's not much up there - a couple of movies and a couple of comics - but the plan is to u.n.l.o.a.d. Stay tuned.
Shabba! DK at the controls this week with new releases include Ill Insanity, Eliot Lipp Lifecycle. There's a dip into what's new at the Ninja Tune stables with music from Cadence Weapon, Ghislain Poirier and remixes for Zero dB. There's classics from Tom Tom Club and Grandmaster Flash and a naughty little cover from Shawn Lee vibzing up "Toxic". Always a pleasure, never a chore!
This weeks guest is London's very own Clause Four. It's all about quality with beats from Flying Lotus, Dabrye, Ramadanman, Rhythm & Sound and of couple of nuggets from the Clause Four vaults.
I don't even need to tell you this, but grab the podcast if you have forgotten already. Keep It Solid Steel!
I'm a big fan of the current run of Iron Fist. This issue isn't going to make a lot of sense if you haven't been following the monthly issues though. Please go back and read the first tpb and get some back issues.
Matt Fraction (and Ed Brubaker at times) are weaving a brilliant and compelling back history to the Iron Fist legacy. I'm really enjoying this book!
In the spirit of cross-blog promotion and similar tastes in music, may I direct you to S.A.T.'s "Shed Boogie" blog. A lot of cool music info here. Also be sure and check out the man's dj mixes here.
Thanks S.A.T.! You're on the list for the next swank evening at Wayne Manor.
A new edition of Royal Groove Webradio, with some great new releases, plus some older classics as well!
Both Aaron Jerome and Coffee Garner really impressed us with their releases and they went right into this edition of Royal Groove. But also DJ Days' tribute to Jon Lucien, the Daktaris afro groover, the Mystica Plants trip and of course the title track by the great Michael White.

Just finished watching Keoma (again)... if you're a fan of Spaghetti Western, here's one not to miss. Franco Nero stars in this great film. 1976.
From Netflix: Half-breed gunfighter Keoma (Franco Nero) returns to his hometown to find it overrun by a hideous plague. What's worse, Caldwell, the boss of the town, won't let any medical supplies in -- or let any people out. After saving a beautiful woman (Olga Karlatos) from the affliction, Keoma begins purging the real problem -- Caldwell and his men. Combines the operatic conventions of spaghetti Westerns with the slow-motion shootouts of Sam Peckinpah.
Great action, great stunts and a fantastic soundtrack. Recommended! Off to re-watch Django now.
