ok... so good internet guy - DJ Food (strictly kev) sent over his latest EP... "The Shape of Things That Hum"... the limited vinyl and promo cd arrived last week. what a gorgeous record... such attention to detail... the art! the liner notes! beautiful stuff.
my turntable was buried in old records, comics and various other nonsense. not even hooked up... I really wanted to give this record the attention it deserved - something like this is always a special listening experience for me...
so with the turntable buried and the promo cd with a little extra PC remix action on it (that the vinyl did not) -- I packed it up one cold day last week and took a drive down to this little park. Midafternoon - nothing going on - just me, some crisp weather and 40 minutes of new Food action.
well - it was worth it. every track a winner. you'll be hearing "Brother John" on February's "Soul Society" mix... can't wait to hear Matt Johnson put his vocal's to kev's version of his "Giant".
go buy yourself a copy already! (presented by the Do It Now Foundation).
