You Made It Weird: Zach Galifianakis

You Made It Weird: Zach Galifianakis

Solid Steel - Nov.02

Solid Steel in association with Serato (2nd November).

It's a suitably seasonal start from Coldcut this week with the classic Irresistible Force mix of Autumn Leaves, extending over the equally lush Dr. Chinme by Lusine Icl and the Capac remix for Spokes. Then it's low slung beats from Caro Intelecto, Marmion from 94 and Boards of Canada from 98. It's a change of tone from De La Soul and then we're into a reggae selection from Sly & Robbie, King Tubby, Scotty and Willie Williams.

In hour 2 we are treated to more of a session than a mix from Archie Pelago, as they perform brand new tunes live exclusively for Solid Steel. A firm favourite with Coldcut, we've featured both their music and remixes on the show before. It's a gentle start for the New York based trio with 'House of Haab' and a steady rise throughout the mix to a frenzied conclusion with 'Lakeside Obelisk' showcasing their talents combining live instruments with electronics.

DK once again completes the circle taking it back down with forthcoming music from Letherette, the much talked about Kendrick Lamar and Flying Lotus, plus another cut from the Stubborn Heart album. Then it's an acoustic guitar finish with Pop Levi, Jeb Loy Nichols and two from the legendary Terry Callier RIP.
